About him:
Professor Thote was born in 1949, he received his Ph.D. from Paris Diderot University in 1985. He used to be the dean of the French East Asian Civilization Research Institute and the editor-in-chief of the French Sinology magazine.
He is currently a professor at the École Practical Institute in Paris, a senior researcher at the Académie des inscriptions et belles-lettres, and a consultant for the editorial committees of Archaeology and Journal of Archaeology, Institute of Archaeology, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
He has long been engaged in the study of Chinese pre-Qin archaeology and art history, and has written quite a lot. He enjoys a high reputation in contemporary French archaeology and sinology circles.
