After Spring/Summer’s Nineties revival, a wind of fresh innovation blew through the ranks of jewellery designers for Fall/Winter 2016-2017, with cuffs and bracelets over sleeves, strings of pearls and layered necklaces.
Strings of pearls
The pearl has been emerging from its traditional image for the past few seasons, revisited as ear cuffs and graphic chokers. But this winter sees a return to its roots with a vintage twist.
Single earrings
Long, graphic, hoops or earcuffs, the only way to wear earrings right now is on their own. The single earring was one of the biggest trends of last season, first emerging on the runways in New York and London and confirmed as a trend in Paris. This trend is set to only get bigger and bigger in 2017.
Bracelets over sleeves
This is an unusual one. First spotted in J.W. Anderson pre-Fall/Winter 2016-2017, bracelets and cuffs worn over sleeves gained ground during the collections, worn just above the elbow or over gloves.
Statement Necklaces
From pendants to chunky chains, it’s all about making an impact with your necklace. This Statement is timeless.
Layered Necklaces
It has become rather fashionable to pair chokers with chains for an alternative look, and this is set to be a big trend for 2017. Why not layer a few fine chains together too?
